Bethany
has been training and showing horses for
over 30 years, specializing in an intuitive
yet systematic approach to opening the
harmonious communication between horse and
rider. She has competed in Dressage through
Intermediate, ridden and trained through all
the Grand Prix movements and participated in
many exhibitions internationally,
demonstrating all of the High School
movements.
As a
Junior/Young Rider Champion , Bethany was
personally chosen and mentored by Ukranian
classical riding master and Olympian
Dressage rider, Mykola Pawlenko. She was
also invited to live and train for three
years with German Reitlehrer, Wolfgang May,
a student of Willi Schultheis. After
training and showing upper level Dressage
for many years as well as managing many
stables across the country, Bethany became
an Assistant Head Trainer and Principal
Rider for the Royal Lipizzan Stallion Show
under Gerhard Ablinger (who would ask her to
take over training of his horses when he
went overseas). And, although she did not
take the position, Bethany was the first
woman to ever be hired as a trainer/coach
for Tempel Farms in 2002.
No
matter what level of success Bethany has
enjoyed, she has always held firmly that the
comfort of the horse’s mental and physical
being should never be compromised to
accommodate quick results. The mind, as well
as the body must be properly conditioned
with a solid foundation to ensure results
that will not infringe upon the longevity of
the ability to perform, mentally or
physically. Though she is a grand
technician, Bethany has a very gentle,
almost ethereal approach to training that
creates happy, relaxed horses and even
happier, more relaxed riders!
Bethany
has worked with many breeds of all ages at
various levels of training including
Lipizzans, Andalusians, Friesians, Arabians,
Quarter Horses, Morgans, Thoroughbreds,
Trakehners, Oldenburgs, Holsteiners, Swedish
Warmbloods, Dutch Warmbloods, and various
types of crosses. It is her belief that no
one breed has a monopoly on greatness, each
has a valuable purpose to serve.
Whether
you are an avid or aspiring competition
rider, or simply want to enjoy better
communication with your horse, Bethany can
and will help you progress to the next
level.
